Plainly, because a pay site you can't trust is worse than none.
Referral bonuses
Mercor and micro1 run public referral programs. When someone clicks an apply button here, signs up and gets paid work, the platform pays us a bonus. Mercor's is 20% of the new worker's early earnings up to a cap, paid by Mercor; micro1's is a flat amount per role, paid by micro1. Neither program's published rules deduct the bonus from your pay.
Featured projects
AI data companies can pay to feature a project. Featured cards are always labeled “Featured · paid placement” and sit apart from the pay-ranked list.

What money never changes
- Roles are sorted by pay (or by what you choose), never by whether a platform pays us.
- Platform profiles include the watch-outs, with sources, for every platform, including the ones that pay us.
- Worker reports are published as they come in once a platform has three, good or bad.
- We never charge workers anything.
