The work

You will support AI training by reviewing legal citation-checking and pincite grading materials. The work focuses on finding unclear rules, creating realistic examples, and explaining why a citation is correct or incorrect.

  • Review Bluebook and pincite grading rubrics for unclear, incomplete, or inconsistently applied rules.
  • Identify citation edge cases and recommend appropriate handling.
  • Create sample tasks with source material, realistic citation errors, corrected answers, and explanations.
  • Build examples across citation types and difficulty levels, including formatting, pincites, and source-support issues.
  • Apply Bluebook rules consistently, flag ambiguous cases for further review, and deliver detailed work at the required quality level.

What it pays and takes

This is a remote, part-time contract role. The work requires careful independent judgment, consistent application of citation rules, and reliable deadline management.

  • Pay: $50 to $80 per hour.
  • Language: Professional fluency in English.
  • Location: Remote. Open to candidates in AE, AR, AT, BD, BE, BH, BR, CA, CH, CL, CO, DE, DK, DZ, EG, ES, FR, GB, GH, GR, ID, IN, IT, JO, JP, KE, KG, KW, KZ, LB, LK, MA, MX, MY, NG, NL, OM, PE, PH, PK, PS, PT, QA, SA, SG, TH, TN, TW, US, UZ, VN, and ZA.
  • Education: Current law students, particularly those in their second or third year, or JD graduates.
  • Required knowledge: Strong working knowledge of The Bluebook, including pincites, short forms, signals, and parentheticals.
  • Required ability: Explain why a citation is incorrect, not only identify the correction.
  • Preferred experience: Law review or law journal work involving cite-checking or source collection.
  • Helpful background: Experience as a journal editor, articles editor, or executive editor, especially when it included reviewing or guiding citation work.
