The work

You will create expert demonstrations and evaluation data for computer-use AI systems. The work involves designing realistic parametric CAD tasks, completing them in FreeCAD, recording the actions and interface state, and preserving relevant files before and after each task.

You will build accurate, repeatable workflows and review submitted demonstrations for realism, completeness, correct step-to-action mapping, and model quality. Keep recordings free of personal information and confidential geometry, use approved applications, and complete the work using your own expertise.

  • Create task briefs from dimensioned drawings, spreadsheet-driven parameters, assemblies, TechDraw sheets, manufacturing preparation, and geometry exchange workflows.
  • Build parts, sketches, assemblies, drawings, and other FreeCAD deliverables while preserving engineering intent in the model tree.
  • Record complete demonstrations and explain reproducible workflows in clear English.
  • Define dimensional and structural criteria for successful results.
  • Review traces for realistic actions, complete steps, accurate mappings, and sound CAD models.

What it pays and takes

This is a remote, part-time contractor role with flexible hours. You should be able to run FreeCAD and screen-recording software on a supported operating system.

  • Pay: $25 to $30 per hour.
  • Time: 20 or more hours per week.
  • Location: Open to candidates in Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brazil, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, the Philippines, Timor-Leste, the United States, and Vietnam.
  • Core experience: Mechanical design, product development, manufacturing engineering, or a comparable CAD-focused role.
  • FreeCAD skills: Genuine proficiency in Sketcher and Part Design, with strong parametric modeling fundamentals.
  • Troubleshooting: Ability to resolve constraint-solver failures, broken feature references, and problematic geometry.
  • Additional tools: Working knowledge of at least two other FreeCAD workbenches, such as Assembly, TechDraw, Draft, Spreadsheet, FEM, or CAM/Path.
  • File workflows: Familiarity with STEP, IGES, BREP, STL, and mesh formats.
  • Communication: Clear written English at B2 level or higher.
  • Quality standards: Consistent use of detailed rubrics.
  • Equipment: FreeCAD and screen-recording software running on Windows 11, Ubuntu X11, or macOS.
