SQL Quality Assurance Lead

The Work

As a SQL Quality Assurance Lead, you will review AI-generated SQL queries, database explanations, schema reasoning, analytics workflows, and optimization recommendations. Your feedback will help keep technical content accurate, executable, logically sound, readable, secure, and aligned with review rubrics.

You will also help improve consistency across SQL trainers and reviewers. This includes finding recurring quality issues, updating guidance, maintaining review materials, and supporting contributor onboarding.

• Review SQL queries, database explanations, schema reasoning, analytics workflows, and optimization recommendations.
• Check outputs for correctness, efficiency, readability, formatting, security awareness, and instruction-following.
• Identify recurring quality gaps and communicate workflow updates to trainers and quality reviewers.
• Maintain documentation, FAQs, trackers, examples, honeypots, and onboarding materials.
• Support contributor activation, follow-ups, and onboarding calls for SQL work.

What It Pays and Takes

This is a remote contractor role for candidates based in the United States. The role is part-time and requires at least 20 hours per week.

• Pay: Up to $70 per hour.
• Location: United States only.
• Engagement: Contractor and part-time.
• Availability: 20 or more hours per week.
• Language: Strong English communication skills.
• Experience: At least 3 years of SQL experience in analytics, database engineering, reporting, quality assurance, teaching, or technical review.
• SQL knowledge: Joins, aggregations, subqueries, common table expressions, window functions, indexes, transactions, and normalization.
• Review skills: Ability to evaluate SQL against rubrics and identify syntax, logic, performance, and security issues.
• Database platforms: Familiarity with PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, SQLite, BigQuery, Snowflake, or Redshift.
• Coordination: Experience working with remote reviewers, analysts, engineers, or quality assurance teams.

Helpful Background

Experience leading remote teams or supporting documentation-heavy quality assurance workflows is useful. Background in AI training, data annotation, large language model evaluation, SQL quality assurance, code review, or rubric-based technical review is also helpful.

You should be comfortable using Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, trackers, dashboards, GitHub, and project management systems.
