Transcription Expert (Mandarin)

The Work

You will listen to audio recordings in Mandarin and English and create accurate, verbatim transcripts. You will also add tags or context notes, then proofread and edit the text for accuracy and consistency.

The work includes following formatting and documentation rules, resolving unclear language with coordinators, and delivering finished transcripts on time. Your linguistic input will help improve AI systems that work with Mandarin audio.

• Transcribe Mandarin and English audio accurately and verbatim.
• Add project-required tags and contextual notes to transcripts.
• Review, proofread, and edit transcripts for errors and consistency.
• Follow detailed formatting and documentation standards.
• Clarify ambiguous content and linguistic questions with coordinators.
• Complete project deliverables within agreed timelines and quality expectations.

What It Pays and Takes

This is an entry-level AI training role for a remote contractor. No previous AI experience is required, but professional transcription experience and strong Mandarin and English listening skills are required.

• Pay: $20 to $30 per hour equivalent, paid per task.
• Time: 20+ hours per week.
• Location: Remote, open to candidates across selected countries in North America, Latin America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.
• Language: Professional fluency in Mandarin and English, with advanced Mandarin listening and comprehension.
• Experience: Professional transcription experience, especially with Mandarin audio.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accurate, error-free work.
• Work style: Ability to work independently, manage deliverables remotely, and meet deadlines.
• Helpful background: Familiarity with transcription tools or platforms and experience with bilingual Mandarin-English projects.
