The Work

You will listen to short Italian recordings and create clean, standardized verbatim transcripts. This means writing exactly what was said, not translating or creating new text.

You will also review audio using predefined options. You may flag unclear or unusable recordings and mark sections that cannot be understood with confidence.

• Follow detailed transcription rules without improvising
• Check spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and standard Italian conventions
• Mark unclear sections and unusable audio using the provided options
• Prioritize consistency and accuracy over speed

What It Pays and Takes

This is long-term, ongoing contractor work with a steady daily workload. Previous transcription, captioning, subtitling, or speech data labeling and quality assurance experience is preferred.

• $11 USD per hour
• About 1 hour per day, Monday through Friday
• Less than 20 hours per week with a flexible schedule
• Long-term commitment of 12 months or more
• Open to candidates currently located in Italy
• Fluent Italian with professional-level written accuracy
• Bilingual English proficiency
• Strong listening skills and careful judgment with imperfect audio
• Reliable internet, a suitable computer, quality headphones, and a quiet work environment
• Complete a short Italian transcription screening sample before starting
